Re: What Are You Doing Now?
a beautifully sunny autumnal day here with pure azure blue skies and the sunlight touching the yellow and orange leaves, painting them a dazzling gold, while the air is chill and speaks of the cooler winter days to come.
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Damp, dour, frigid and nippy here. The ground remains mushy after the heavy rains of late meaning our labrador will churn up our less than immaculately conceived lawn even more so.
On a brighter note I did lose £20 in a shop and have it handed in to the cashier.
I celebrated its return by buying three packs of black winter socks - each pack containing five pairs of socks.
I should now be well equipped to withstand the promised forthcoming 'coldsnap' that has been forecast for the UK.

Positively Blytonesque, Rob.Rob Houghton wrote:a beautifully sunny autumnal day here with pure azure blue skies and the sunlight touching the yellow and orange leaves, painting them a dazzling gold, while the air is chill and speaks of the cooler winter days to come.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Lol! I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek - but it was certainly a beautiful day - and so was today too!

Putting the garden tools up for the winter, washed, scoured and wiped down with an oily rag so they shine like silver! Reminds me of the Peeky and the Tools in that old favourite read, THE GREEN STORY BOOK!
"Its a magic wood!" said Fanny suddenly.

I'm having a chest cold. My voice was gone this morning. I'm rewarding myself with rereading "Hollow Tree House" and eating clementines.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Roofers came to fix the flashing that had -within weeks- peeled off of my new lean-to and also to deal with other snagging that I'd identified. After suggesting I needed to replace the corrugated plastic with (something else-sorry my mind has gone blank). They did not mention this when they quoted! They are coming back tomorrow to replace it (free) with lead flashing.
Fibreglass!- just Googled it.
Hope you feel better soon Chrissie. Well organised (wish I was) floragord, That was lucky (and good of them) pete.
Edited thrice to correct my dreadful spellings of peoples names

I hope you feel better soon, Chrissie. Will you use this opportunity to read all 14 Tina und Tini stories? I also have a copy of this omnibus now.

I'm looking up bus times for tomorrow. I'm going to see Elaine Paige, whom I adore, in concert tomorrow night and have decided to make a real day of it as I don't go out often. So I've decided to get the bus in the morning, get there nice and early and then I can have a good look around. Maybe even find a bookshop or two to rummage in .
