For fans of Brer Rabbit, this is a lovely book to have. Its annual-sized, and has many lovely 'tone coloured' pictures by Kathleen Nixon, on smooth art paper. Quite a good price, even without the dust wrapper. I've rarely seen one in a dust wrapper, to be honest. Starting price £4.99. It finishes tomorrow.
Unfortunately the photos don't do the book justice - but take my word for it, you won't be disappointed!
Mine cost around £18 - £20 so you can see this isn't a bad price at all if it doesn't go much higher!

Re: Heyo Brer Rabbit!
That does look worth having, Rob! I've always loved Enid's retellings of Brer Rabbit.
I'd like to bid on this, but if there's anyone else here who really really wants it, I'm happy to stand aside — I don't desperately need it (I'm not a serious Enid Blyton collector) and I definitely don't want to be in a bidding war against a fellow Society member or friend.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Heyo Brer Rabbit!
Not many of them seem to be in good condition though - except maybe the 'buy it now' one from eBay. The others are cracked or grubby...
I wonder if all these editions are printed on 'art paper' as mine is? The one I gave a link to looks as if it is, but was that common to all editions?

Re: Heyo Brer Rabbit!
I bought my copy from Ebay in 2014. At that time, there were many choices with the prices below £5.00 to choose from. I bought from Gary & Rowena and have become acquaintance with them since.
I do not know whether they are printed on art paper, Rob.

Does your copy have the shiny art paper pages? Just wondering how common these were?sixret wrote:I bought my copy from Ebay in 2014. At that time, there were many choices with the prices below £5.00 to choose from. I bought from Gary & Rowena and became acquaintance with them.

Re: Heyo Brer Rabbit!
By looking at my record, my copy is the 1938 edition but I could not check on the paper as my physical book is kept in the box.

Re: Heyo Brer Rabbit!
It would be the art paper then, I should think! I presume all copies are. Mine is 1942.
