Did Enid ever just sign her christian name only on occasion?

Re: Enid's Signature?
That last one does look like Enid's genuine signature that someone's cribbed out of a book, but the Noddy picture isn't from her time...

Re: Enid's Signature?
It really is unbelievable how many fake Enid Blyton signatures keep turning up and very sad that some buyers are fooled by them.

Re: Enid's Signature?
My framed signature of Enid Blyton I definitely know isn't a fake.

When and where did you get yours, Julie? Is it in a book?

Re: Enid's Signature?
Stephen bought it for me for my 60th birthday, Eddie. I posted a picture of it at the time, but don't know where it will be on this site now.
It's a signature in the book of Billycock Hill. Stephen checked with Tony first to see if it was genuine and Tony confirmed it.

Re: Enid's Signature?
Tony confirmed mine, too. The seller had listed about 10 signed books, but I chose Smuggler's Top because its one of my favourites. It 'only' cost £75...

Re: Enid's Signature?
I agree, Eddie. Unfortunately, some people will go to any lengths to make money. Two years ago, We had a shop shut down in Nottingham that had been selling forged signatures of Famous Sports stars. You couldn't really tell if they were or weren't fake just by looking at them. They were cleverly done. These people have no morals, or even care about who they hurt along the way. Personally, I'm quite sceptical when it comes to autographs, unless I witness the person signing my books, etc. Theres always something in the back of my mind saying 'is it or isn't it' genuine, when contemplating whether to buy a signed book by an Author/Sports star that I've never met in person. I'm a cautious person, so I'd have to pass up the opportunity to purchase a signed book by Enid unless the signature had been verified by an expert first.Eddie Muir wrote:It really is unbelievable how many fake Enid Blyton signatures keep turning up and very sad that some buyers are fooled by them.
