And, as I recall, you were wonderful company, Anita! Like you, I do miss the EBS days. They were cut short just as I was on the verge of making new friends! Maybe the meet up at Exbury next May will make up for a lack of EBS days in some small way?Anita Bensoussane wrote:Yes, I remember having a lovely chat about the 1970s Famous Five TV series, badgers, books, etc. I miss those brilliant days at Twyford. Wonderful memories!

Thanks, Number 6. I'm certainly hoping to go to the Exbury meet-up and I hope as many forumites as possible will be able to make it.

I realised after I posted that it was daft asking if we'd met/spoken if we didn't know what each other looked like!! I think there's a photo of me & Zoe taken at the EBS day when Gary Russell, Marcus Harris, Julie Davis & Gail Renard were the guests on that particular day. I think it's on this sites EBS day reports. I'll look for it, then post it!Julie2owlsdene wrote:Yes, he did say he was putting the date of 13th May into his diary, number 6. So fingers crossed.number 6 wrote:Absolutely, Julie. Did Gary recently post on the forum that he was putting the date in his diary? Interesting to know if I ever met/spoke to you during past EBS days.

I remember seeing one of you, number 6 (in a photograph on this site). You were wearing a distinctive tee shirt (can't remember the group) or the year.

Ah yes! I can remember wearing a Black "Stranglers" t-shirt to one EBS day, but I'm not sure I had my photo taken wearing it. If I did, then there's two photos of me in existence on this site! The one I recall wearing was a greyish blue Adidas t-shirt & I'm stood with Zoe (George@Kirrin) showing her some F5 TV series location photos I had took. I'm pretty sure this was the day when Gary, Marcus, Julie & Gail were the guest speakers. 2010 seems to ring a bell.

Don't recall a TV WATN thing being proposed. Not to say it wasn't but if it was, they didn't get as far as asking l'il ol' moinumber 6 wrote:As I recall, there was supposed to be a TV "Where are they now?"appearance by Gary, Jennifer, Marcus & Michelle but this was also scrapped. Hi Gary! Although I vaguely recall reading something about a TV WATN for the F5, I feel I may have got my wires crossed somewhere along the line (No surprise there, then!). I'll try & find the article again & post it.

Just dug this postcard out from a box in my attic. It's not seen the light of day for many a year! It's an handwritten note that Jennifer Thanisch (Anne in the 70's F5 tv series) left behind the bar for me at her parents pub in Laleham. I met her on a few occasions in the early 80's. I was working in & around the area for a few months at the time. I can't remember why she left me the note, but it could've been that I asked her for her autograph. Seems like yesterday!! The front of the postcard depicts a drawing in Black ink of the Three Horseshoes pub in Laleham.

Yes thanks, Number 6. Is the drawing by Jennifer or was there an 'official' pub postcard?

Frustratingly I now can't make May 13 (I'm working in America that weekend, as y'do). If it changes to another date (other than 6/7 when I'm also away), let me know cos I'd love to be thereJulie2owlsdene wrote:Yes, he did say he was putting the date of 13th May into his diary, number 6. I was definitely at an EB Day when Gary and Marcus were there - so it must have been before 2010, as I haven't been to one since 2009.

I'm quite happy to change the date to when Gary can make it, if this helps. I think 13th May was suggested as it would have been around the time of when the Enid Blyton Days were arranged.Gary Russell wrote:Frustratingly I now can't make May 13 (I'm working in America that weekend, as y'do). It's a drawing of the "Three Horseshoes" pub in Laleham. Jennifer's Parents had them especially made during their time running the pub! Her Father gave me three blank ones & Jennifer signed the one I posted, along with a little personal message, which was nice of her! I'll post a photo of the drawing if you're interested.Jack400 wrote:Yes thanks, Number 6. Is the drawing by Jennifer or was there an 'official' pub postcard?
