I just watched a programme called Sarah Beeney's Four Rooms. Someone was selling a 1st edition of Child Whispers. He paid £800 for it originally and wanted £2,000, but settled for £1,300. It was wonderful to see the book in real life - it was bigger than I'd imagined.
Although sadly one of the 4 dealers dismissed it out of hand saying something like Enid Blyton wasn't of interest to modern children.
