I'm curious to know why all these branch lines and stations were closed. Was it anything to do with Beeching? I thought commuter trains were full to bursting and if anything there is a need for more rather than less?
Lucky Star wrote:Aldwych was opened late last year for a few days of guided tours and I went. It was quite expensive at £20 per ticket plus, obviously, travelling expenses etc but it was well worth it. It really did feel like a trip back in time once we were in there.
