Oh dear. This must be the only quiz where creating the 'question' is harder than coming up with the answer!
Five children and dog

The Mystery of the Spiteful Letters, I believe?
In came the Taggertys. They were clean, except Biddy knees looked like she had been crawling half a mile in some muddy place.

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Dang, that means I have to rack my brain and come up with another one! Please, anyone, feel free to answer before me any time, and save me from myself!
The 'right' aeroplane
To follow the treasure trail
And rescue a hen

The Secret Mountain? I dont really think it's right because of the 'and rescue a hen'.

Oh! It could be The Valley of Adventure?

Re: The Enid Blyton Haiku Game
Well done, yes, it's Valley of Adventure. I had put 'wrong plane' but then, it was only the wrong plane for a trip with Bill, but it was the right plane to go on an adventure wasn't it? I couldn't think of how else to end it in 5 syllables, so rescuing the hen (Martha?) it was!

Re: The Enid Blyton Haiku Game
Very clever, thinking of using the year as it has 5 syllables.
I think the answer is Smuggler Ben? I had thought it might be The Secret of Spiggy Holes first, but I didn't think that spies would fit in there. Edit: And of course that would have been four children anyway!
