We definitely had that exact edition when I was reading them between the ages of about 7 and 11. I'm almost certain it's still at my parents' place in Australia and in reasonable condition — if it was my own copy, Pete, I'd be glad to bring it back for you when I go at the start of next month, but as it belongs to my sister, I can't!!

I've got this book, Pete. Unfortunately, I've only got one copy! However, I'll certainly keep an eye out for it on my travels around second hand bookshops. If I find a copy, I'll reserve it and contact you. I can always let the copy go if you've managed to buy one by then. :D

Thank you very much indeed for the offers to locate the elusive final Maxey book - it's much appreciated. :D

Here's a decent collection of 1970's photo cover editions:

The covers look in fab condition, Pete, but I'm not sure about the state of the pages, though. The side view pics of the books reveal some have seen better days! That's not surprising after 40 years! :|

Some of them look like they've been dropped in the bath (or somewhere else full of water).

Maybe some have been left in a damp place, Courtenay! It's a shame really, cos the covers look really good. :|

Its a shame, really. I was nearly tempted to purchase them just for the sake of the cracking covers, but decided against it. However, It's still interesting to see what's out there, so thanks for posting the link, Pete! :D

By the way, I found a complete set of Wallace & Scott classic Famous Five bookmarks in storage, which I think I acquired a few years back. I can remember paying £5 for them. I totally forgot I'd got them till yesterday when I was putting a box of books into my loft. They were just sitting on a shelf in a clear bag! I know very little about the company, but I think I may try and find out a bit more when I've a bit more time. The bookmarks are in mint condition. I think I also had a set of Secret Seven ones, too, but I can't find them as yet!

Hi all, id like to know if there exist books 8 9 10 11 with Betty Maxey covers and Eileen Soper internals .I haven't seen them with this combination .
Also are there all 21 books of Betty Maxey covers with the thin font Five as against the later on thicker font and title .I have seen only a few early titles with this thin font .

Sadly, looking at the info in the cave aminec I don't think those Knight editions ever had Soper internals.

Thanks. That's a strange sort of anomaly . Would you know about the thin font BM covers ? Are there all 21 of them ? The card paper was slightly thicker compared to the other kind of paperbacks.
Also there are some different covers by BM , they featured two kids carrying a case and another had them looking out of a window for the early titles .How many had such alternate covers ?
