I’ve been having some technical problems lately.
Firstly: I can’t access the further illustrations function in The Cave. When I click on “Reload page to show illustrations” nothing happens but the message ‘Reader available’ appears.
Secondly: In the forums when I click on my username (or on anyone else’s username) at the top of a post I get a blank screen with a blue line continually moving across the bottom of the screen as if it’s trying to download data.
Thirdly: I am usually always logged in to the forums but now although I can post I have to log in every time, even if I tick the ‘Remember me’ box. Immediately I move away from what I have just posted I am automatically logged out. This has been happening the last couple of weeks or so but the first two problems I only noticed yesterday.
I’m guessing this may have been caused by an update to my phone. I have an iPhone 14 plus. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Please can anyone help?
Thank you
Kate

Re: Problems accessing parts of the website
I only use a proper computer/laptop to access forums, but I have just tried accessing the forum on my iPhone XR and all is fine. It would appear that it could quite possibly a problem caused by an update to your phone, Kate Mary. You could go to settings>software update and see if there is a further update there. You could also try powering off your phone, then powering back on again.
You could also try to solve this issue by clearing your cookies. Which browser do you use? If you use Safari, Apple's own browser then do this:
Open the Settings app, then select Safari.
Scroll down, then select Clear History and Website Data.
Tap Clear History and Data to confirm.
If this doesn't work, try a different browser. I use Google Chrome (you can download Chrome from the app store, free of charge), but have just tried accessing the forum on Safari, and again, all is well.
Good luck!

I hope Nigel's suggestions will resolve things, Kate. If not, please let us know as I realise how frustrating it is to experience problems like that.

Thank you very much Nigel and Anita, I seem to be back in the land of the living. I went into settings and found that the cookies were blocked (how did I do that??) and then powering off and on again did the trick, I’m frequently outsmarted by my smartphone. Thanks again.
