Friends and Foes?
Er, what exactly happens if you add someone as a friend or a foe?
I've been adding loads of people to my Friends list - are they notified when someone adds you?
It does seem like a good idea, though.

Click on anyone's name - there are two links - Add to Friend and Add to Foe.
BTW, I have added you as a friend, Jools.

Yes, I must admit I wondered about the 'foes' bit - it seems a bit strange to mark someone off as a foe!

Re: Friends and Foes?
I've just seen in FAQ that posts by "foes" won't be displayed by default.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what the "foe" feature is for. I guess it is designed with bigger boards in mind where a lot of arguments and fallings-out take place. If you fall out with someone, you can add them as a "foe" and it will hide their posts from you and block their PMs. I don't know. We're a very happy and friendly bunch here!

Hmm...
I've been wondering that why should there be a "foes" section on these forums - since we all are like friends. In fact, I just think of the members of these forums as my second family!!!
I guess my only foe is Ming!
Just kidding!!

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.

Oooooh! I was only joking, Ming!
Personally, I am rather glad to see someone of my age on these forums...

I agree Almas it certainly is like a second family!
There is always something else new to learn.

Re: Friends and Foes?
I feel surprised that although I joined in July, (less than a month) I feel as if I've known the members personally. I am a member of several boards (including several Harry Potter and Lord of the Rigns forums) but I have never felt so much of gladness browsing through any of them, compared to these wonderful forums!Susie wrote:I agree Almas it certainly is like a second family!

Re: Friends and Foes?
It doesn't block PMs from foes. I foe-d Nigel for sometime (sorry old pal - you will forever remain a friend, don't worry!) but I got his PM okay. I noticed that the PM was marked with black, though.Matthew Roberts wrote: If you fall out with someone, you can add them as a "foe" and it will hide their posts from you and block their PMs.

In my UCP, it says that "Personal messages from foes are still permitted"...
