Any chance of someone taking a video of it? Not the whole thing but at least a few highlights. I don't know if it's possible. It would be great to be able to buy such a dvd or video.

Welcome to the Forum, Katy. It'll be good to see you at Loddon Hall. Do you know the area, then?

I'm sure you know already, Katie, but if you or others don't, tickets can be bought online. Just go to the Home Page, scroll down a bit, and they can be bought using PayPal, or ordered by post from Tony.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious!

As we have now reached the magic number of 100 of us attending the Enid Blyton Day in May, I thought I would put a bit more flesh onto the bones to hopefully encourage a few of those still standing on the side of the pool to jump in and join us. Although some details of the programme have still to be decided, two speakers have given me a provisional yes, Nicolette Jones and Duncan McLaren. As can be seen from the link, as a regular reviewer of Children's books for the Sunday Times, Nicolette is probably more in touch with current children's books than any of us. Duncan is the author of a forthcoming book, This is His Enid, which is going to be published by Portobello Books this autumn. The blurb on the back cover of the book says:

'Enid Blyton gave us the Secret Seven and the Famous Five, the Enchanted Wood and the Wishing Chair. Some of us, encouraged by austere critics, have pretended no longer to want what Enid gave. We have pretended that we were not once upon a time enthralled by every book she wrote.
We have chosen to forget how much we loved the time we spent in their company. And we have feigned disdain. Now, Duncan McLaren offers each of this sad group of lapsed devotees the possibility of honest redemption, as, if you're willing to acknowledge that Enid Blyton once mattered, hugely, to you, you are certainly invited to accompany Duncan on an adventure that will investigate what made Enid Enid and endeavour to reach the source of her torrent of stories, the stories that came when she was letting her mind go free.'

I am delighted to say that both are also members of the Society.

Always important to Forum members is which other Forumites will be attending; using their Forum names the list of those who have already bought tickets includes the following:- Anita Bensoussane, Steve Alpe, David Chambers, Norman Wright, Timmy-the-dog, moonraker, Jools, Viv of Ginger Pop, Noddy13, Patc, Alan Blaikley and Matt Roberts.

'Stars' hoping to be present (as yet neither Viking or Lucky from the Forums!) include:- Gillian Baverstock, Imogen Smallwood, Barbara Stoney, Marcus Harris (for those that missed him last year) and Val Biro, illustrator of a number of Blyton books as well as author and illustrator of his own Gumdrop series.

As time goes on I will hopefully be able to update both these lists.

Hope to see more of you there
Tony

I'd just like to add, Tony, that I too will be there... at least in spirit. :(

Great that you've reached 100 visitors already! Surely that's pretty impressive, since there are still two months to go? I must add a note about this on my site too...
