Great idea Sue. Hopefully it will be possible as it’s been a while since we all saw each other. It’ll probably depend upon Covid though.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sue and John. It would be great to meet up next year, Covid permitting.

YES! All round to Sue's - (when restrictions permit obviously).

We could do the hokey kokey - then have a go at the conga.
Leaving Sue's gaff we could catch one of those new nuclear powered buses and give Rob a knock.

I'm sure 36 adult Enid Blyton fans arriving at his residence unannounced all doing the conga would make him overjoyed.
Where to next? I'm open to suggestions.
I don't want to take over the whole day with my plans?

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to Rob's we go!!

Anyone else got ideas for the next part of the day???

There's a blast from the past. Has anyone any news of him? He just seemed to vanish.

I sent him an email the other day wishing him a happy Christmas.
He hasn't posted here much since he sadly lost his Dad a few years ago.

I think Daisy may be more up to date than me.
I hope he pops back here one day - even if it is just to see that we plan to land on him on our day out! :D

Hopefully it won't scare the poor chap away completely!

I'd love a meet up some day if at all possible. Ideally somewhere easily accessible by train.

Shame that Old Thatch gardens are no longer an option, it was a seemingly easy place for everyone to get to. Although you can meet up at a place connected with another author - J R R Tolkien. Sarehole Mill is lovely and the fact it is only a few miles from where I live is entirely unconnected
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy

Hello everyone! My first visit to the forum for some time but just noticed these plans for a meetup next year. I was involved in former Blyton days and the Old Thatch get togethers. I would love to join you. When do you have in mind?

I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. He is okay but says he finds it hard to get motivated to do anything much. He is still thinking about how to end the story he has written for the weekly serial slot.

Has there ever been an Australian meetup?
I’ll be cheeky and jump right into this suggestion - I’m in Melbourne, VIC. If some Australian members are available on the second Saturday in May we could book a table at Miss Marple’s Tea Room, it’s styled as a traditional English tearoom, so not a bad crossover for Blytonians.
It’s located in Sassafras, in the Dandenong Hills. https://www.missmarplestearoom.com/

I’d suggest a BYO picnic, but the weather is a bit iffy at that time of year 🌧☔️🙏🏼☀️😎.

Did anyone ever try to organise a Blyton fan meet up here in Germany? Obviously the situation at present is not very suitable, but perhaps it might be worth thinking about during the summer months when one can meet outdoors and hopefully the incidence rate will have improved by then.
