Journal 82
Journal 82 will be with us shortly and the contents look fantastic. Perfect fireside reading with a cup of cocoa.

Re: Journal 82
I only remembered this week that my renewal is always due before the Winter edition, so I resubscribed post-haste!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Ooh, I like the sound of "Demon Island, an Australian Blytonesque Adventure" by Judith Crabb! Looking forward to reading that one, thanks, Judith.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

You wait ages for something nice to arrive in the post and then two good things arrive at once! My Girls Gone By copy of the Malcolm Saville Short Stories and of course the Journal which is as full of interesting things as always. I will read the Journal first and then move on to the Saville. Hours of happy reading.

My Journal has also arrived. I've immediately resubscribed with donation via paypal. Very easy. The Journal looks amazing even though I've only read Tony's editorial as yet. I'll settle in to enjoy it over the next few days hopefully.

Mine has arrived, the first time I've had King Charles stamps on my post I think.

Re: Journal 82
Mine has now arrived; more when I've had time to read it. The article by Anita on 'Three Boys and a Circus' caught my eye at once; i had a look at this and I find that I also owned the yellow hardback 'Dog Stories' volume that had this story and the Adventures of Scamp. (The latter has a dog-napping and rescue reminiscent of what happens to Lucky in the Mr Galliano's Circus series.) I read the 'Dog Stories' volume in about 1966, when I was just moving on from Noddy and Brer Rabbit to Enid's family adventure books - and it's good to see the illustrations from Three Boys again, which I remember vividly. Especially the ones of Dick and Bouncer looking at the arriving circus on the road, and Mr Ravelini grabbing Larry!

My Journal has arrived. So far only read the Editorial, as I always read that first, and then went onto John's excellent article on Rat a Tat. I'll post more once read.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Re: Journal 82
My copy of the journal arrived at lunchtime today, which was a great surprise as I did not really expect it until Friday or early next week. The cover is very enticing as always so I can't wait to start reading it! Many thanks to Tony and all the contributors for what promises to be another splendid read.
