Mine arrived yesterday - and for once I read it almost cover to cover. It helped that there was a lot of Famous Five content and Ring O Bell's is one of my favourites. Plus we had not one but two new (to most of us I expect) Blyton pieces to read. I had seen the advert for the book about Charles and Anne in one of the magazines so it was nice to finally be able to read it.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I was getting a little worried as mine is usually one of the first to arrive but literally three minutes ago, with a mighty "Whump", Journal 80 has hit my hall floor. As always it looks superb and I shall hopefully find time to devour it over the weekend.

My copy arrived this morning and the first task, even before reading the editorial, was to renew my subscription for the next three journals with PayPal. I always do this when a Spring journal arrives. The contents look like being an excellent read but I’ll comment on this issue later.

The Famous Five musical Smuggler's Gold (1997) was released on DVD.
Thanks, Anita, I'll look out for it.

Oh no, wait, I told a lie earlier — it HAS come today. I obviously checked too early before! Love the gorgeous Faraway Tree cover and the contents look a treat, especially the book of Charles and Anne! Thank you so much for all your hard work as always, Tony. :D :D :D

I've just finished watching it on YouTube, really good - though watching George tap dance was a surprise! Thanks again Anita.

My Journal has now arrived. More when I've read through it; nice to see an article on the often overlooked Barney series.

All the Journals were taken to the Post Office at the same time, but from that point onwards things are beyond Tony's control, I'm afraid. I hope those who are still waiting receive their Journals soon.

I did get mine though, the same day I posted that it hadn't come yet! So far I've really enjoyed Judith Crabb's excellent article on the Find-Outers, and, of course, the gorgeous Charles and Anne reprint.
