That's really interesting, Tony - I guessed it was about 2000 that I joined, but as the first Journals I had were from 1999 also, I wasnt quite sure. :-)

I was member of the Green Hedges Magazine too - which is why I didn't join the Enid Blyton Society any earlier. I also wish I had!

Most interesting. Thanks for this information, Tony. :D

I, too, am pleased to hear that the Golden Era is yet to come. :D

You're quite right, Pete, I subscribed to "Green Hedges Magazine" from the start and have a complete collection of this publication: 41 issues which ran from January 1992 to Summer 2002.

I was never a member of Green Hedges Magazine. :( I remember I joined the Enid Blyton Society because I had recently bought The Enid Blyton Dossier - which is a fantastic book! - and I think there was an advert in there - or details of - the EB Society. :D

I'm down to just needing 14 journals now, and I have a couple of random Green Hedges ones too.

I'm fairly sure my first journal was #34 back in Winter 2007. Gosh, that's almost seven years now! I think I joined the forums around about then and posted a bit, then I think I disappeared for a while.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

No, I'll pass on that too, thank you! I only had a very few of the Magazines and now don't know where they are but on the principle that I never throw anything out, I still hope and expect to come across them someday!

I agree. Having a complete set of EB Journals is enough for me! :-)

Hear hear - I thoroughly agree! :D

Can you give my membership number too, please, Tony? Not that it's vitally important, but I'd just be interested to know.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I have not got the first 17 journals - but haven't really gone out of my way to keep a look out for them. They do make interesting reading though. Having referred to number 18 earlier this evening I've been reading more of it and see Lisa Newton was a contributor - talking about the Find-Outers.

Daisy, that comment could be my coat of arms! :D I still haven't found the school library book that my daughter borrowed nearly a year ago, but I just know it's got to be here somewhere. Although saying that, my other daughter has mislaid a bottle of expensive cooking oil and a pillow that she brought home from uni last term. Now the cooking oil I can just about understand, but I didn't think our house was big enough to mislay something as large as a pillow!

I have a number of duplicate Journals which I really must sort out and sell to the highest bidder.

I have 9 Green Hedges magazines, which isn't many, but I'm not quite sure how many there were in total.

Shame on me, my memory is atrocious. Well I have the last two published, and the first one then, plus a few others. Only another 22 to collect, plus one Journal, plus numerous Society Publications, plus a copy of A Childhood at Greenhedges, plus..........

Could this possibly be a resubscription date, Tony? My first Journal was no:40 (Winter, 2009) and I have had them ever since.
Poppy you are actually quite a tricky one as that was the first Journal that you had under your own name (No. 46). Up to that point I had been sending the Journals to your Grandfather! More research needed this end!
