You might have read 'The Magic Scissors' in one of these books, John:

Let's Read is a charming collection of tales. I particularly like 'The Wonderful Scooter', which I've never read before. It's a delightful story and reminds me how much my sister and I enjoyed riding our scooter around the garden when we were little. The bright, cheerful frontispiece is beautiful. 'The Hole in the Mackintosh' is another lovely story, and the illustrations for 'The Great Secret' are gorgeous.

It’s a treat to be able to read these Birn Brothers books from early in Enid’s career. Thank you Tony.

They're lovely little books. I must look out for them when I'm next at a book fair.
