I would add Aunt Linnie and her youngest daughter Susan from the "Six Cousins" books to the list of stalwart characters!

Great stuff, Boodi! I can't believe I forgot about Aunt Linnie until now!

Miss Pepper is a great shout (from earlier) - I thought of her at one point but never got round to posting it.
And I agree about Aunt Linnie from Six Cousins. I only recently read both those books for the first time, but Aunt Linnie definitely seems to fit the criteria. Not so sure about Susan? A likeable character, and gets on with the work well like her parents and all her siblings. But not sure she stands out above the others enough in, say, the way Roderick does compared to his siblings and mother. But definitely Aunt Linnie.

I would say Dorcas who worked alongside her mistress Aunt Linnie diligently. Between the two of them they got everything running smoothly and even more for her to do when the three cousins came to stay.
The Chief looked at Fatty. "Brains are good, courage is excellent, resourcefulness is rare," he said, "but generosity crowns everything, Frederick. One of these days I'll be proud of you!" - "Vanished Prince".

I think if you're going to include Dorcas, then it's very unlucky if you don't include Mr Longfield as well. As he also was an incredibly hard working and diligent member of the family and a big part of why the farm was successful.
I'd personally just probably go with Aunt Linnie, as she managed to juggle both sides of the household and the farmwork and that's why I'd pick her above Mr Longfield, who mostly just did the farming, and Dorcas, who mostly just did the household stuff. But if you include Dorcas, I think it's unlucky to exclude Mr Longfield as he was also an important part of that trio and they all needed each other.

Thanks Bertie, I thought of Mr. Longfield after and yes they all needed each other. It was not an easy life and with three others thrown in the mix, it had to be doubly so.

I'll add Jenny-Wren to the list of stalwarts.
Couldn't do the wrong thing if she tried.
And from another standalone book - House-At-The-Corner - there are a whole bunch of stalwarts. Aunt Grace, Lizzie, Greta, the twins and Michael Best, the Vicar's son.
