That's fascinating, Splodj — I like the comment at the end of the review about the stolen papers without which "no secret-passage-false-backed-cupboards yarn would be complete"! It's a pity such a brief review gives away a few plot spoilers, but hopefully not enough to ruin the excitement of the story. I'm also very interested to see the mention of The Picts and the Martyrs by Arthur Ransome — my mum's favourite author! :D Thanks for sharing this.

A good find, Splodj! I've never come across Dominic by Diana Buttenshaw but that sounds interesting too.
