Blyton characters rarely had a bath, and I don't remember anyone having a shower!

The trouble is now we shall never know what is false memory syndrome and what is written in continuation novels

Blyton characters had hot baths -- also the Famous Five did a lot of swimming which is as good as a bath.In Rilloby fair mystery, Mrs Lynton asks Roger if Barney wiuld like a bath after the fair moved to Rilloby-- Findouters had hot baths before sleeping at night.-- On the other hand people like Ragamuffin Jo never had baths and smelt.unwashed. Later --she learnt to be clean in her foster mother's home, which actually was Joanna, the cook's home (if I remember right))

Wasn't it Joanna's sister?

Or cousin? I don't think Joanna had any nearer relation than that in the area.

In Five Fall Into Adventure the cook is called Joan rather than Joanna. But it is to Joan’s cousin that Jo goes to live.

Its sometimes nice to drift away-- isnt it? and reach where we started -- Joanna's cousin would lend her.frocks to Ragamuffin Jo to wear.-- If I remember right.and Jo was learning quite a lot of manners and stuff.

Getting back to the purpose of this thread:

Could there have been a magnet trick in any of The Naughtiest Girl Books does anyone who has read the entire series know?

I don't recall there being much in the way of trick playing at all - except Julian with his animal imitations. Maybe there are more but I'm not sure if I'm remembering from the right books!

I've done a quick search in the Kindle editions - no "magnet" in them.

Julian plays a few tricks involving things like pellets and springs.

I do not remember a magnet trick in The Naughtiest Girl. There was one in Malory Towers. Sorry if I've said this already; it's been a while :)
