Well, I just discovered the illustrator Leonardo in the cave for the first time today.
He seems to have re-illustrated a lot of the Mary Pollock books in the mid 1950's with a very similar cover to the one that preceded his.

I don't know if he illustrated any other Blyton's apart from the Mary Pollock books that became Blyton's?

The style of the Leonardo cover looked familiar to me from those of some Blyton hardbacks which I read in the mid-1960s, Pete. I've checked those which I remember in the Cave, and the third edition of 'Three Boys and a Circus', dated 1955, also has a wrap-around Leonardo cover. Given the dates, I assume that Leonardo was given a group of Enid's one-off books on similar topics to illustrate in the mid-1950s, in the same way that Armada used Mary Gernat for PB covers of books about holiday adventures/ horses/ farms in the mid-1960s; I wonder if he was a regular 'go-to' artist for the publisher in question .

Well, I have just received a lovely surprise email which contained the poem I have been searching for.
I won't embarrass the kind gentleman who sent it, and will give him a nom de plume instead.

Enid must have a had a wonderful surprise after her March 1917 poem was published to read the response from Maud Dyrenfurth in the June 1917 edition of the magazine!

Maud Dyrenfurth’s poem “I Have” is in the appendices to Barbara Stoney’s biography. I’ve got a first edition, I don’t know if it was in later reprints.

Many thanks for your reply Kate Mary too. I couldn't find the poem in my 2006 electronic version of the biography. I must find and check my paperback copy to see if it is in that.
