Just checked my 2006 Macmillan copy and the text is the same as it is in my earlier copies. There is still the mention of Bill's cigarette being blown away by the wind.
"Beware of young men with long hair - that's what dad says, isn't it?"

Thanks Poppy! :-) Sounds like it's still the same, then - I wondered whether it was setting a bad example still having Bill smoking! 8)
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Merged with an older thread.

Hi. Does anyone know which version of the text they used for the 70th anniversary edition?

Unfortunately, the 2014 Macmillan hardback has the updated text with Joe instead of Jo-Jo. I'm not sure when those edits were first made but it's a shame they found their way into a 70th Anniversary edition.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.
