It's a more elaborate version of the Nikolaus Plump cover.

That's interesting. I wonder if the other Nikolaus Plump covers have had a similar treatment. The one posted by Pete is quite nice though I think the originals in your link are a bit too minimalist for my liking.

The illustrations of the first editions of the "Europa" dramatised Famous Five audio book are more or less based on the Plump covers. In the meantime Europa changed the covers.

Very interesting, Pete and Wolfgang. I like the atmospheric colours of the Europa audio book.

Totally agree. It's a great pity that the cover was redone.

The original Five Get Into Trouble wrapper illustration is the best in the whole series in my opinion. Eileen Soper at her supreme best.

Despite the TV show modernising George's mother's name to Frances, I always thought 'Fanny' was a common nickname for girls named 'Sarah'.

I am sure that you already know, Pete, as you have a really good knowledge of the Cave, but all these German Europa items are already in the audio section in the Cave.

Thank you Tony.
Here's a couple more of Europa covers and a link to the section of the cave they can be found in:

"Sally" is a common but perhaps unintuitive nickname for Sarah. (Sarah Hope, maybe?) I've never heard Fanny except for Frances, and I haven't heard that so often.

My mother's middle name is Frances. I dare say there was an Aunt Fanny somewhere further in the background, though we don't know where.

I like the Europa covers. They have an appealing 1970s-80s look.
