Re: Errors in books
Yes, I only did that because when you create a link from the page with the different book editions on, you can't keep the edition up that you are refering too, it comes straight up with the first edition... Not the Society's fault of course, it would do that with any website.

Re: Errors in books
I am really the last person to tell people how to do things, Poppy, but I will give it a go!
You just right click on the image that you want, left click on image location, select Img from above and paste.
Voila!

Re: Errors in books
Thanks Tony, I've had a try, I'll see how this comes out...
EDIT:
Well it didn't come out the same same as yours but its fine. I right clicked on the image I wanted and discovered I didn't have the option to 'Image Location' so I used 'Copy Shortcut' instead and pasted and it came out a link... As you can see, it is a white page with a large picture of the book on...

Unfortunately, this doesn't work on my Mac! Can any Mac user tell me the way to achieve the same result?

Re: Errors in books
I think I have found the problem, Poppy, as I can only do this with Firefox which is what I normally use. I tried doing it with Internet Explorer which I also have on my computer and it didn't seem possible. I always use Mozilla Firefox now as I find that it is considerably better than Internet Explorer.

Of course in any browser you can right click and copy the image URL, come back to the reply box, hit IMG and paste the URL in the middle. Chrome doesn't have image location option. The IMG tags are the only thing Poppy missed out which is why it didn't show.
It should look like [img]pictureaddress[/img]

Re: Errors in books
A thing I noticed it that the letter W doesn’t display properly in I.E. It is faded. It looks fine if I use Chrome.

The letter 'W' always appears faded on my screen whenever I type on here, the lower case is fine. I thought it was a problem with my computer.

Re: Errors in books
I've just finished reading the Secret of Kilimooin and there is a place where the boys and Pilescu and Ranni have been tied up in a cave by the robbers.
"They were all in a terrible plight. At any moment more of the roof might fall in and the cave would be completely flooded with water. They could not help themselves to escape because they were so tightly bound.
“Ranni! Open your eyes!” begged Paul. One of the robbers had left a torch shining on a ledge nearby, and its light shone on to Ranni’s face as he lay with his eyes shut, half-leaning against the rocky wall. “Pilescu! How did you get caught like this?”"
So, how did the robbers, a very primitive people, get the torch? Where did the batteries come from?

Re: Errors in books
It might have been a torch-flame rather than an electric one.

They were robbers, so couldn't they have stolen it?

Re: Errors in books
Yes, I did think that but the how likely were any of the people robbed (it was a small rural community) to have had torches? Not very.
