Managed to find a copy of 'Five Have A Wonderful Time' for 99p in Henley. I'm pretty sure this is the only Famous Five book I've never read in any shape or form!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, Stephen. This is just one of the Five books that I really loved, and once I'd read it as a child, I began it again straight away. I just loved it, and Buffalo, one of the characters. :D

Last week I was in Smith as my daughter had a World Book Token to use. While she was choosing which free book she wanted, I wandered over to the Enid Blyton section and discovered there was a '3 for 2' offer on. I ended up with Holiday Stories, Springtime Stories, Wizards and Witches, Summer Stories and Summer Holiday Stories. My daughter chose a book to make up the 6th one needed for the special offer.

I was given some money for Mother's Day, so I've bought Holiday Stories and Springtime Stories, and will put the other 3 books away for people to buy me for Christmas and birthdays presents. :D

My dad offered to buy Springtime Stories for me for Easter, as I don't eat chocolate so always good to have something else if I can. I'm afraid I am one of those people who put bookshops out of business, because I bought it on Amazon. It was a lot cheaper, so I don't blame people buying online. It should have been £6.99 but I got it for only £3.49 :-D

Not really a book, but something I'm pleased to have just 'won' on eBay - 'Enid Blyton's Christmas Story' - advent calendar.

It only cost me £9.99 as no one else was bidding - quite a bargain, I think, for such an ephemeral item! :-D

That's a lovely calendar Rob and a really good price! I've seen one on ebay before and it was much more than £10 so I think you got a bargain :D

I saw a complete set of the Nature Readers books/magazines sell on ebay last night for £23, which I thought was very good as it's not easy finding all of them in one lot and they start mounting up when bought separately. I hope they went to someone here :) .

Does anyone collect more than one edition of Enid Blyton?

I usually don't, but I know there are some here who do...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I only buy a duplicate if it has a dustwrapper where my copy does not, or if it is in very much better condition.

Rob, I think your Christmas calendar looks great, and sounds like a good price.

Sixret, yes, I collect more than one version of books. I have many of the Famous Five in paperback which I've had since childhood, and I'm now also collecting hardback versions of them as well. I've also got some with the TV covers on too.

Thank you Courtenay, Daisy and Katharine. :D

Like Katharine, I have had my"modern" editions. Full set of each major series and the majority of the main titles in other series, one-off novels and character books. Since 2014, I have been buying the vintage editions. So I have two full set(three in some cases) of each series now which has created one problem. Not enough space.

Space is one reason why I don't collect duplicates. I never had any paper-backs of any of the main series, so have no desire to get them now. Had they been my introduction to Blyton, though, I might feel different!

I don't purposefully collect 'duplicates' but occasionally I do happen to have them. For example I have a full set of Find Outer books in dust wrappers, and also have most of them in the 'Dean' versions from the 1990's. That's just because at one time I was collecting the Dean library.

Then I have some paperbacks from when I was a child, of books like Valley of Adventure, Island, Mountain, plus Secret seven books, Holiday House, Those Dreadful Children, Cherry Tree Farm, etc etc which I now also have in dust wrapper versions.

I also have the original versions of all the Adventure books in dust wrappers, plus all the 'Thames' versions in wrappers, mainly just because the wrapper designs are different.

And I have the full set of Famous Fives in decorated spine versions, but also four or five in the white spine version as extras.

And I have quite a few Dean versions of Amelia Jane, Galliano's Circus, Mr Twiddle etc which I also have in original hardback versions.

But unlike some here, I don't purposefully collect different editions such as 1952 edition, 1955 edition, 1960 edition of the same books. :-D

Today two more purchases arrived, "Fünf Freunde" (das Buch zum Film "FÜNF FREUNDE UND DAS TAL DER DINOSAURIER") and all 7 books of Newnes' "Pictorial Knowledge".

I have different editions of books in different languages (German, English, French) and sometimes I even have them in the same language e.g. trying to get the original text when there have been changes, or when I'm interested in a particular illustrator.
