Anyway I bought today:

Five Have a Mystery to Solve 1997

Five Are Together Again 1997
Abi.

Still trialling other writers, but will eventually go back to reading a bit of Blyton! Just too many books...

Occasionally will pop in! xx

Went to a local car boot sale this morning and got the 10th holiday book for £1, good morning book for 20p, the 3 strange travellers for 20p, 3 editions of book collector magazine featuring EB articles for 30p each and a charming little toy Golly for £1.50.
Not a bad little bundle. LOVE car boot sales! :)

Wow, what bargains! I've never been to a car boot, partly because I hear you have to get up at the crack of dawn to get anything worth having, but mainly because I know I'd get carried away and end up buying loads of stuff I don't really need/have the room for.

I bought a couple of Enid Blyton's in Sheringham on Saturday, both Dean books:- The Naughtiest Girl, and Bimbo and Topsy. £2 each. Not the ones with D/W, the ones with printed covers. I already have copies of these books in other formats, but I'm trying to complete the collection of Deans I had from my childhood.

Katharine, you should really give car boots a go, they can start any time from 6am-10am (for late risers) we usually go around 9ish and get a few goodies. One man's junk is another man's treasure they say! :)

Hi, I just bought 'The Circus of Adventure' as well as 'The Secret of Moon Castle' and 'The Mystery That Never Was'.
'I'm George,' said the girl. 'I shall only answer if you call me George. I hate being a girl. I won't be. I like doing the things that boys do. You're to call me George. Then I'll speak to you. But I shan't if you don't.'

I picked up Well Really Mr Twiddle and Don't be Silly Mr Twiddle for 50p each at a car boot sale this morning. The wonderful Dean editions. :D

I know they were cheap and cheerful in their day, but I love the Dean & Son Blytons with their attractive spines. They look so enticing lined up on the shelf.

I like the Dean and Sons too. If there's a Blyton book that I already I have I tend not to buy it, but I make an exception for the books by this publisher in hardback.

I've just bought The Blue Story Book. It's a bit tatty, and minus a dust jacket, but it's a first edition and only cost £6.50 including postage. I usually try to stick to £5 and under for the shorter story collections but in this case I had the other three in the series and this one was proving harder to find.

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Don't gasp but I bought a book in a series I never read before:
'Secrets' - "Secret Mountain", "Secret of Killimooin" and "Secret of Moon Mountain" 1991 Mulberry hardback compilation. Rapid minute update. Gotten the 1965 Armada paper back of "The Secret Island" for the original text.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. :?

You've got some delumptious reading ahead of you if you haven't read the Secret series before, Joanne. :D When you said "Moon Mountain" I think you meant "Moon Castle". Have you also got The Secret of Spiggy Holes, which is the second in the series?
