Sadly I don't think I'll be putting a bid in for this to house my ever growing book collection. ;)

I saw at Sotheby's yesterday and it really is a lovely piece of furniture.

I haven't got the room for that but it would be something I would like to be able to display my coin collection in, Katharine.

You'd also need an electrician to wire the sockets in as well. :D

If I could afford a piece like that, I don't think having to pay an electrician would be that must of a problem.

You could get much the same effect at a more affordable price from IKEA... :P ;)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Ha ha - very true.

It will be interesting to see how much things sell for. Apparently his piano is predicted to fetch at least a million, but there were smaller items such as Monopoly. I suspect even that will go for far more than it would normally retail for, simply because of it's provenance.

It was lovely to have the opportunity to view the items, although there were so many, it was hard to appreciate just what was there.
