Would you be seen reading a Blyton in public?
Re: Would you be seen reading a Blyton in public?
If I knew Nigel better I might suggest that he was worried the shops owner would just think he'd come in for his regular order. However as we've never actually met I wouldn't dream of saying such a thing.

Maybe when next we meet, Katharine, we could compare notes?
Incidentally, the shop manager really put me on the spot when I flippantly made a comment. She didn't see it as flippant, but a genuine point. I can't say more on an Enid Blyton forum.

Well, technically no, but as you sent me a PM once I suppose I meant you could do the same again if you wished.Moonraker wrote:Have I?Katharine wrote:And mine

You'd certainly need him to reach those top shelves Julie! (And so would I of course!)

It's hard enough getting me to read authors than Enid Blyton! Mind you, from what I've heard the kind of 'literature' in those sort of shops contain more illustrations than words.Julie2owlsdene wrote:Maybe we should get Moonraker to take us in the shop, Katharine, to broaden our horizons!!!Katharine wrote:

I imagine that every shelf in there is a "top shelf" of sorts, even if it's at the bottom!Daisy wrote:You'd certainly need him to reach those top shelves Julie!
