Would you be seen reading a Blyton in public?

The books! Over seven hundred of them and still counting...

If I knew Nigel better I might suggest that he was worried the shops owner would just think he'd come in for his regular order. However as we've never actually met I wouldn't dream of saying such a thing. :wink:

Incidentally, the shop manager really put me on the spot when I flippantly made a comment. She didn't see it as flippant, but a genuine point. I can't say more on an Enid Blyton forum. :shock:

It's hard enough getting me to read authors than Enid Blyton! Mind you, from what I've heard the kind of 'literature' in those sort of shops contain more illustrations than words. :shock:
