Just finished reading The Treasure Hunters and I was wondering - what on earth is seccotine that the children fasten the map to the roof of the dolls' house with?

It's a glue that can be used by crafters, you can still buy it today.

Seccotine is also mentioned in The Naughtiest Girl in the School. Naughty Elizabeth Allen squeezes it into the toes of Miss Scott's shoes!
