I've summarised findings on Enid's use of the signed foreword in her various series of the 40s in this new page. Thanks for those who inputted to this over the last couple of years!

It's a Find-Outers investigation, led by Fatty, natch. Who makes his own rubber stamp of Enid's signature like the one used throughout the Famous Fives, Secret Sevens, etcetera.

Now to repair my Mystery of Holly Lane page, which is where the first draft of that material was posted.

Thank you, Duncan. Your research, sorry detective work is most appreciated.

May I wish you all the best for Christmas and The New Year also.

With regard to the signature on Last Term At Malory Towers (asked about earlier in the thread) the manuscript draft is available online at the British Library site ...
https://www.bl.uk/collection-items/last ... ript-draft" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This indicates there was an instruction for the usual 'block' signature to be applied.

Incidentally, the British Library also has the start of the Five Have A Wonderful Time manuscript online ...
