I feel askew and alien from today's generation.
I also believe that anything or anyone immensely popular to the masses ie Phil Collins, Abba, Enid Blyton etc, etc very often receives a much harsher critical judgement than artists who produce less work that is perhaps harder to assimilate and enjoy, yet still receives 'critical' acclaim.
I sometimes think if Enid had produced only about a dozen top-notch books in her lifetime, she would be much more critically acclaimed..
The 'critics' gain would be our loss.
