Just going back to this topic. On Monday, quite by chance, I came across a 'First Day Cover' of the stamps referred to in the previous posts, for sale on eBay for just £1.75 including postage, so I bought it.

They arrived today, after just two days - and in perfect condition, from the seller in Merseyside and just a couple of miles from where I lived as a child and read Enid's books. The strange thing is, the face value of all the stamps is more than I paid for them - £1.89. Here is a picture of them and of the insert that came with it.

An attractive First Day Cover, John, and I like the look of the insert too!

Lovely stamps. A great addition to your collection Boatbuilder.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
