Famous Five Forever!!!
Re: Snippets from Yorkshire Post
Interesting Maureen. I had to chuckle at the absurdity of the blocked e-mail to the school, and the name they used. Had a bit of a shock when I saw the article about Hugh's wife, I don't know how I'd missed her name before, but Ida Crowe was also the name of a close (now deceased) relative of mine. It's such an unsual surname I shall have to do a spot of research to see if we are related, although I think I can safely say that the Ida Crowe I knew never met Hugh Pollock.

Just doing a spot of Googling about Ida Crowe, and discovered that one of the names she wrote under was Jane Beaufort. I wonder if she realised that Beaufort Mansions, in Beaufort Street was where Enid and Hugh started their married life? Or maybe she used that name before she met him.

Hugh and Ida also lived in Beaufort Mansions later - but in a different flat, I think.Katharine wrote:Just doing a spot of Googling about Ida Crowe, and discovered that one of the names she wrote under was Jane Beaufort.
