Just listened to this 1966 radio interview with Enid-not broadcast till some years later for some reason....

What was the key to Enid Blyton's success as an author?

Re: Sue MacGregor Interviews Enid Blyton
It seems Sue MacGregor is still with the BBC after several decades since she interviewed Enid Blyton and she is fearlessly approaching Enid Blyton's age at which she kicked the bucket!!!pete9012S wrote:Just listened to this 1966 radio interview with Enid-not broadcast till some years later for some reason....

There's a whole thread on the BBC archive here:
http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/foru ... it=archive" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The radio and TV programmes are first mentioned about halfway down page 2.

The link to the archives provided by Viv is not working for me, and neither is the second link put up by Pete. Not sure about the problem with the link to the archives, but it looks like there are region restrictions on the second link that Pete provided. Pity.

I've just updated the links in the BBC Archive thread (see top of page 4):
http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/foru ... 76#p103076" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm afraid the BBC might be preventing certain countries from accessing them.

Princess, you are not the only one who doesn't have access to it. The first and third links provided by Pete should work fine.zaidi wrote:Al right, but it's not good that i can't see the BBC archive

I enjoyed the sarcasm. Actually Ming, the first and the third links seem to be the same, though you are right that both work.Ming wrote:Princess, you are not the only one who doesn't have access to it. Ah, it was sarcasm. I should have realised that, seeing as I am meant to be the expert in that!70s-child wrote:I enjoyed the sarcasmMing wrote:Princess, you are not the only one who doesn't have access to it. Re: Sue MacGregor Interviews Enid Blyton
I got sound in my computer and when i heard Enid's voice , i simply loved it but only her picture was appearing not her movement of lips. But really what a wonderful voice she had. Does any one of you have a bit similar voice like her.
Re: Sue MacGregor Interviews Enid Blyton
Seems it was an impromptu interview. MacGregor refers to it in her autobiography, 'condensed' version here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2002/ma ... gestedread" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If she cheekily turned up unannounced on Enid's doorstep with a tape recorder, that - as well as Enid's growing dementia - would explain why this interview sounds rushed and, well, not very good (as MacGregor apparently admits in her book). So not good that it remained unbroadcast for several years.
I must buy the book to see what else she says about her encounter with Enid.
