Have you ever met Gillian or Imogen Blyton?
Have you? I haven't! Do you know if Imogen or Gillian have had children I would have loved to meet Gillian and I am very sorry when I heard about her death in sometime 2006? Does Imogen have contact details I can access?

Many of us who attend the Enid Blyton Day which takes place in May, over at Tywford, have met Imogen, and her daughter, Sophie.
Hope you enjoy looking around this site, Eblytonfan101. It would be nice if you could post on the 'Introduce Yourself' post and tell us a little about yourself.

Don't forget that Gillian and Imogen never had the surname "Blyton," which was their mother's maiden name. They were Gillian and Imogen Pollock until their mother remarried, when their surname was changed to Waters. When they themselves married, Gillian became Gillian Baverstock and Imogen became Imogen Smallwood.

YES.....meet Imogen at the Enid Blyton Day.12-05-12...cant believe she talked to me,so kind
Re: Have you ever met Gillian or Imogen Blyton?
I saw Imogen at the Enid Blyton day, but was too shy to go and speak to her. However I did speak to her daughter Sophie. I had taken my copy of the Noddy book Sophie wrote a couple of years ago, and she very kindly signed it for me. She was very nice and we chatted about Noddy for a couple of minutes.

I feel the same now. She seemed to be quite occupied most of the time, but that’s not really a valid excuse, I couldn't do it. I know from what others have said that she wouldn’t have minded having a few words.

Stef and I spoke to her very briefly - she was desperate for a cup of tea and needed to get into the queue before the hatch closed, but she took the time to give us both her autograph.

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Isabel and I set outside at lunchtime and Imogen sat down next to
us with her daughter. We chatted inconsequentially about I don't know
what! After a few minutes she was called away to meet somebody - no
rest when you're famous.

Re: Have you ever met Gillian or Imogen Blyton?
Viv kindly introduced me to Gillian around four years ago. This took place outside the Ginger pop shop in Corfe Castle village. I can't remember exactly why she was there, but I was very grateful that she was! I think she was staying at Knowle House in Studland at the time and Viv had driven her up to Corfe. We had a nice chat about her time in Dorset and the impact it had on her Mother. She was a lovely lady to talk to.

I was thinking that too Julie. Perhaps we should hide it from Stef - famous people can't get out of stage doors without falling over her, from what she says!

Very true! Though it's likely that none of us would recognise many of the namesDaisy wrote:Perhaps we should hide it from Stef - famous people can't get out of stage doors without falling over her!
