very special photos, thanks Tony for posting them (and thanks to Ralph, too). They are certainly very touching pictures, and I felt privileged to be able to see them.

Incredible photographs, especially the one taken outdoors. It seems to me that photographs taken of outstanding actors, politicians, entertainers and authors during the last years of their lives seem to share the same poignant, almost tragic quality.

I love the light coming through the window, and the almost depressing 'blackness' of the darkened interior, and the bleak-looking garden and house in the outside photo adds to its poignancy no end.

Hello to you all!

I just recently discovered these wonderful coloured photographs of Enid, which were obviously taken in 1963!

Since I had never seen any coloured photographs of her before, I thought these might be interesting for some of you. - Or are they already well known and popular here?

So, here's the link: http://www.pictorialpress.com/search?q= ... 22&site=pp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers from Germany, Kenneth (Michael)

Thanks for that, Kenneth. :D

I've seen a similar set of photos, but not in colour.

You're very welcome indeed, Viv. - It was the same with me: I had already seen similar photos before, but never in colour, which really impressed me! :D

Very interesting to see Enid in colour - and her house (Green Hedges)! Thanks, Kenneth!

Thanks Kenneth, very interesting pics. They do show rather clearly that Enid was a member of the "Blue rinse brigade". :lol:

Kenneth, thanks heaps for this link. The photos are wonderful. I've seen some in black and white before but I can't believe how much more real they seem in colour. And seeing Green Hedges in colour is particularly good.

cheers

Yes, very interesting. The ones where the Weeping Angels were creeping up on her were scary -- hope she didn't blink!

Thanks for the link, Kenneth. I have seen the photos in black and white, and it's nice to see them in colour. Everytime I see that lovely house I fume that it was pulled down. :evil:

I can only echo what the others have said. The first colour photos of Enid I've seen - wonderful. Thank you, Kenneth.

I know that I am an old cynic, but I have seen these photos in black and white as well and I have always been told by the family that there were no colour photos of either Enid or Green Hedges and this proved to be a slight problem when they were trying to recreate the model of Green Hedges in Bekonscot. Is it possibly that someone has very cleverly added the colour to these photos I wonder! :roll:
