I always thought she was in league with the Illuminati, myself.

They've slipped up in forgetting to mention some of the short story titles - "The Chocolate Cock," "Mr. Widdle On the Train," "Pipes for Old Puff" and "Two Naughty Pussies."

She's certainly a bad influence on me. I've just blown all my birthday money on ebay on some items for my collection.
Between the years of 1947-1959, Enid Blyton used 98% of the worlds resources of ! Fact.

That was ridiculous...... after reading that article brings up all the words/events in Blyton books that nowadays would be considered very dodgy. Servant of Satan? No, Angel brought down to tell great stories to children

I liked Keith's comment on the original rant website.
'Tis very noticeable that some of the more over-the-top ranters against Enid Blyton and all her works start out with black hate in their hearts (the jealousy of little minds?) and then drag in all sorts of ridiculous arguments to support their warped viewpoint. You will also notice that those who strongly attack her writings and influence:

You will also notice that those who strongly attack her writings and influence:
- 1) Almost always also attack the writer herself ( in the best interests of children, of course );
2) Almost never balance their negative remarks with anything positive!

Dont know how I missed this thread before. When I saw it just now I thought for a moment it was another chapter of Enikyoga's book.
I think its meant to be a spoof rather than a serious condemnation. At least I hope so; if anyone really believes that stuff then they have a bit of a personality problem.

Enid a servant of Satan? Don't make me laugh!
I pity people that seriously believe such stuff. It's not even good spoof, too thin in its line of argumentation.
It's not that I take offence at any sexual connotations of the first part of my user name , but it is ridiculous to suspect EB of deliberately using foul or sexist language in order to subconsciously corrupt her child readers.
All she did was making liberal usage of first names that were common at that time as well as of stereotypes that were common back then. They may no more be politically correct, but that's another story entirely.
I will not go on about all the misinterpretations of the Good Book (which is suggested as an alternative passtime but only for the boys ) and the dreadful events they caused.
Cheers

I somehow missed this thread before...I don't think Enid would ever have been a servant to anyone, though!!
