Re: Michele Gallagher
I really think I should! . These past few years, on the 3rd of April I was all day saying how I was gonna commemorate her birthday. Then the 4th comes, and I completely forget about it. But I assure you , it won't happen next year!number 6 wrote:You're gonna have to invest in a diary for next year & pencil the date in, Maria Esther, so you don't forget. Maybe pencil it on a calendar as well, just to be on the safe side!!
I'm 14 and my memory for such details is awful already!!

Haha! I wouldn't worry too much about your memory, Maria Esther. I was like that at your age (Many years ago!!). It's just a case of you having too many things running through your mind at the moment!

I should say so... And with the Junior Cert coming up, my memory for little details like what I had for dinner yesterday, has vanished!

Re: Michele Gallagher
I feel so ashamed but I forgot Michelle's birthday again this year.
I don't know what's wrong with my memory but days before I couldn't stop telling everyone it was going to be her birthday and when the day comes, I simply forget it. Why???
Anyway,
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!!!!!
Always in our memories and in our hearts..

Re: Michele Gallagher
Just to acknowledge that it would've been Michele Gallagher's 55th birthday today. I only wish she was still with us. I think she would've enjoyed sharing the stage with her co-stars at the Enid Blyton Society days, and she would've certainly loved the fact that there's still a lot of people out there who are still fond of her..and of the Famous Five series!

Re: Michele Galagher
I just had a look at the first posts in this topic as I hadn't seen it before and then at IMDB and note that the confusion about Michele's name was answered in Yan's post after Tony's - and that is the spelling - her surname contained only the one 'l'. I am surprised that the topic name wasn't corrected as people are still spelling it incorrectly - even her first name by some. I have altered my post to the correct spelling but any subsequent ones will always revert back to the first post's spelling, unless it's changed. This image below is from IMDB.
However, having said that I don't wish to take anything away from number 6's post in remembering Michele on what would have been her birthday.

Re: Michele Gallagher
IMDB seem to be the only ones to use single Ls in both first and surnames. Wikipedia has Michele Gallagher and the Amazon listing for the DVD sets has Michelle Gallagher, so I can see how people get confused. I've always thought it was Michele Gallagher. IMDB actually says she was born as Michele Barbara Gallagher, adding to the confusion. I wonder what the boxsets and TV episode credits have? I know actors often change their names (IMDB is full of 'credited as' notations) and that there has been problems with (I think it's)the actor's guild not allowing two entries under the same name.

Re: Michele Gallagher
So the very first post actually had the spelling correct?
There are certain names I can never seem to get right when spelling from memory,Paul Macartney, Kenny Dalgleish, Chris Akabuzie,Alan Titchmarshe.. etc etc but I'm veering off topic with my marathon list.
I'm always grateful for the spell check facility, but it's not always a great help with name or places.

Re: Michele Gallagher
Yes, I think we can consider Michele the supreme authority on how to spell her own name! Thanks, Gary.

Re: Michele Gallagher
It would seem that the production company also got it wrong then. Or did she use the single L within her 'stage name' as IMDB refer to her birth name with two L's?

Re: Michele Gallagher
The autographed photo of Michele from the 1978 series should clear the spelling up. Apologises if it's been posted before! The production team spelt her surname wrong. They spelt Kirrin wrong, too...ie Five on Kirren Island Again!
Good grief! Just can't get the staff!
Well, if Southern TV couldn't get the spelling right, then at least the TV Times did!
