Yes, I've seen it. It was shown the Enid Blyton Day 2012.

Still trialling other writers, but will eventually go back to reading a bit of Blyton! Just too many books...

Occasionally will pop in! xx

Yes, those of us who went to this year's Enid Blyton Day have seen the clip but it's nice to see it again. I'm looking forward to buying a copy of the complete film when it's finished as it looks well-made and includes some interesting photos.

Just one thing - at the beginning it says, "In 1896, Thomas Blyton married Mary Harrison." I thought Enid's mother was called Theresa Mary Harrison. :?
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

Well, I was at the 2012 Society Day, but have absolutely no recollection of seeing that clip! Thanks, Maureen, for taking the trouble to search and post the clip here.

I think it was shown during the dinner hour when a lot of us were browsing the bookstalls and chatting with our friends. Having looked at the clip just now, I do remember it - just!

Ah, that explains it. Funny to show it during a break! I'm sure someone will post when it is available, Julie.
I thought Enid's mother was called Theresa Mary Harrison.
It says Theresa Mary Harrison on the birth certificate shown at the beginning of the clip. Was she known as Mary? If not, I suppose it must be a slip-up.

I just looked at all the Censuses ( 1871 -1911) since Teresa Mary Harrison was born and her family tree they all show Teresa Mary so I would say they called her Teresa and Mary was just a middle name like her daughter Enids was. Must be a slip up !!

David Bowie was another famous Beckenham resident. His real name being David Robert Jones born 8 January 1947.
He is therefore old enough to have known Enid Blyton.....

Although they did not live in Beckenham at the same time period, imagine what unique alternative titles we could have had if they had ever collaborated together.....

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Spiggy Holes......
The Man Who Sold Kirrin Island....
Julian, I'm Only Dancing ...
Five Fall into Fame....

It was shown in the lunch interval as there wasn't time for it in the main programme, but it is more or less what was on YouTube as it was only the trailer that was shown. I spoke to the producer, Mike Shaw, two days ago and he is still working on it and adding to it. He hopes that it may be ready before Christmas, but I will let you know as soon as I hear anything definite.
