A very Happy Birthday to Jennifer Thanisch, Today! I hope she has a fabulous day. Is it me, but does it really seem like a year since her last birthday? My, how time is flying by.

Happy Birthday Jennifer. Yes time is flying. At the moment that's probably a good thing. The sooner 2020 ends the happier I'll be.

It's certainly a strange year. I saw this a few days ago.. "What was the most useless thing you bought in 2019?" Answer - a 2020 calendar organiser.

Can anyone think of a way I could see this episode in Aus abt three years after the fact?? Can’t find anything on line.Boatbuilder wrote:Although nothing is mentioned in this topic about it, was it mentioned elsewhere - that is if anybody saw it - that she was on BBC's 'The One Show' in October last year?

Before she was in the Famous Five tv show Jennifer Thanisch appeared in a horror film called Dark Places with Christopher Lee. It was pretty good. When Jennifer played Jack Regan’s daughter in The Sweeney her surname in the credits was spelt Thamisch. Presumably this was just an error.

Yes, Barnard, it was an error though they did manage to get it right in later episodes.

Granted, we can say that now. Back then, we had no idea how 2020 would turn out!Daisy wrote:It's certainly a strange year. I saw this a few days ago.. "What was the most useless thing you bought in 2019?" Answer - a 2020 calendar organiser.

Re: Jenny Thanisch/Child Actors
I always find it interesting to look for other productions beyond the Blyton related that actors have appeared in, and have recently looked at screen shots for Jennifer Thanisch from the earlier work mentioned above.
In having a look at the 90s series, I notice Paul Child went on the appear in 'The Worst Witch;, a children's program that my daughters quite enjoyed. I don't recall ever seeing the 90s FF series screen in Australia ( shame ) so couldn't make the connection. Jemima Roper seems to have gone on from strength to strength but I have yet to watch her later work.
I do remember thinking what a very tall Georgina she was.
I wonder how it has been for the actors who found fame as children in the Blyton series, especially FF. Hopefully an overwhelmingly positive experience, with perhaps just a few downsides that might come with the fame. It seems it is quite common, even if acting is no longer the main occupation, for these wonderful folk to continue with work that is quite closely related to TV.

I've also seen Paul Child in Johnny and the Dead, which was broadcast in 1995 and was probably filmed just before the Famous Five series.
