Unfortunately, they were pretty dreadful adaptations, and not for purists.

I might be wrong, but it seems that the German station "Bibel TV" is airing the adventure series. I stumbled across it today and I'll check out coming weekend to see if I caught the right channel. They air Sundays 07.00 - 08.00 and rerun it Satudays 07.00 - 08.00.

The Secret Series is now on sale in Australia, at several different sites - google away - ranging from $31 to $39. Plus presumably substantial postage. They all claim it's Region 4.

There's also a site on UK ebay claiming ot have 10 sets - the only doubt is they claim it's a 4-disc set when the box clearly says 3, and they say it's Region 0. Cost £40. Anyone heard any more about these? Is there going to be a genuine UK issue, and are Amazon going to have it?

@ Wolfgang That's right. Each episode is watchable, from time to time on Saturday and Sundays. Greetings, Soenke

It's interesting that it is classified as 'medium violence'. It isn't the first thing one thinks about when Enid Blyton is concerned.

Tony, I finally found the link to the website on the Internet, BUT when I searched for "The Castle of Adventure" or "The Island of Adventure", it did not show up.
I searched it in "children's movies", but they must be listed somewhere else.

If you go to "http://www.umbrellaent.com.au/" and search for Blyton, you'll find both the Adventure and the Secret series listed, $39.99 each. You won't go very far with "Castle of adventure" with this series, because this episode doesn't exist - it's replaced by "Woods of adventure".

Thank you so much, Wolfgang!
I typed in Blyton and found it. They seem to ship to other countries (check the bottom, shipping policies).
Is there an Australian Dollar? I wonder if it's worth more than the US Dollar. Will have to ask my husband.
Did you ever watch the Adventure TV series on German TV? Somehow I missed it on KiKa.
Is it close to the books?

Well, I'm mostly interested in "Castle" and "Valley" and was wondering how they realized the castle scenes in New Zealand? I doubt they have any castles.

Hi Tony,
this is not entirely true - there's a German DVD edition with all 5 adventures, unfortunately without English track :-(.
Great! I just added it to my amazon.de wish list.
