Hello, I was wondering if Gary or other fellow members of the forum, could let me know if it's possible to get hold of the book, "Spies, Smugglers ..." by Gary Russell, it seems to be out of print at the moment.

I am wondering if now with the release of the DVDs in the UK, there is any plan to re-release the book?

Thanks in advance

The book is not "out of print" MsAnamatronic, it was never written in the first place. It remains an ongoing project and many people are awaiting it. Unfortunately there is no word as to whether or not it will ever actually appear.

Hello Lucky Star,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Don't quite get it, as the thread title is "Blatant Plug" etc. and the first few posts I read, said something about having placed an order, etc. Puzzling. ;)

Are you a Madonna fan by the way? Just wondering because of your Nickname, teehee xx

The book was available to pre-order for a while, but when the author realised he wasn't going to finish it before the proposed release date, or for a good while after that, the pre-ordering option was withdrawn. Some people have claimed a refund from the publishers.

Lucy Star is the name of Bill Cunningham's boat in "The Sea of Adventure" which, if I remember correctly, was the first book Lucky Star read by himself.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Hello Fiona, thanks so much for clearing it all up for me, including the mistery about "Lucky Star"
It must be the Madonna fan in me, it made sense : ) LOL
I do hope the book gets released,

Do you know where I am supposed to add an avatar to my profile? I click on my nickname, but I see no option there, and I don't see anywhere obvious like, My Profile, or My Account.

User control panel> profile > edit avatar. Must be no bigger than 100x100.

Yes, AFAIK is as far as I know.

I don't get the Madonna reference?

Probably fortunate in some ways, as it was coming from Hirst Books, so even if it had been published we'd still still be waiting for it....

As far as I'am aware, Gary Russell hasn't even started writing his long awaited book yet! He has still many other projects to finish before he can finally put pen to paper, so it won't make an appearance anytime in the near future! :|
