That's the way I think it would work best too, as members live in different time zones and have different schedules.
This is a view that I go along with, although I can see the 30th Anniversary of the "The Famous Five" 1978 thread resembling a chatroom on July 3rd! I may pop in and see what's happening, but I prefer to ponder matters and compose carefully before posting. The sheer speed of a chatroom environment would I fear, be too much for me, I can only type so fast!

When the winning episode is declared, I will be quite happy to post the the appropriate Youtube links on the 30th Anniversary of the "The Famous Five" 1978 thread on Sunday night. Trying to view clips in chronological order on Youtube is something of a challenge otherwise.

That would be most helpful petermax. Many thanks. Ok then there seems to be general agreement for a result to be announced on Sunday night so that is what I will do. Anyone who has'nt voted yet has just over 24 hours from now to do so. :D

Ah yes, the Ebay 1970s Famous Five series box-set, I know it well! It is of course a bootleg, VHS to DVD dubs of variable quality. It is however, very convenient to have as opposed to bulky VHS tapes.

Ok folks that seems to be it as far as the voting goes. Many thanks to all who voted and do remember you can take part in the discussion even if you did'nt vote.

The clear winner is Five go to Smugglers Top which should make for an excellent discussion as its one of Blyton's finest books and the two TV adaptations were among the best of their respective series'. The discussion opens on Thursday the 3rd of July, or late on the 2nd is acceptable too. Heres hoping we get lots of responses. In the meantime grab your videos, DVDs or log on to youtube and enjoy. :D

Here are the Youtube links for Five Go To Smugglers Top. This should make life easier for those of you without VHS or DVD copies of the series. Both the 70s and 90s versions are approximately 45 minutes duration and originally broadcast as two parters. Due to the Youtube 10 minute file limit they are divided here into six parts each.

Five Go To Smuggler's Top 1970s Southern TV series

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6

Five Go To Smuggler's Top 1990s HTV series

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6

Many thanks for those links Petermax, they'll be very helpful. I will start a new discussion thread on the 3rd, or would people prefer to just continue on this thread?

I might watch them tomorrow, when I get home from school early, or something, maybe Wednesday after my driving lesson!

Smugglers Top is the only 90's one, I don't have on DVD! Just my luck! I shall watch on youtube I suspect!

I settled down this afternoon to watch the 90's one on a video I bought last week from ebay only to discover that the plastic cover advertising Smugglers Top actually contained a cassette bearing Five Get into Trouble and ..Adventuring Again. I shall be watching that one on youtube now as well which will take some time on a dial up conection.

Never mind, I'm sure it will be worth the interminable wait for it to download.
