Very interesting to hear about the filming and about the music you listened to at the time the second series was being made, Gary. I'm still a fan of ELO and Blondie.
Good photos, Number 6!

I was particularly interested to see your photos of a Burley having visited the village last summer, Number 6.

I think the Look-in interview mentioned that Jenny liked Pink Floyd & Barclay James Harvest at the time.
Yes, I remember reading that too. Thanks, Gary for the answer to my previous question.

Thanks Anita & Eddie. Burley is one of those little villages that I never tire of visiting. I love walking over the beautiful heathland that surrounds the village, which the majority of visitors don't know about or tend to ignore.

On our visit to Burley last summer, Chick and I met up with Julie, Stephen, Nigel and Jane. It was a very enjoyable get-together. We all had a meal in the Burley Inn after a good look round the village, Number 6.

Sounds like you all had a fab day, Eddie! It does make a difference when you've got others with you that enjoy the same things. The village is small, but has something for everyone.
Here are two more pics of Burley Manor & it's entrance. The first has changed considerably over the last few years. This is where the Five, Sooty & Uncle Quentin are seen returning to Smugglers Top, covered in mud (see 2nd pic).

Wonderful pictures Number 6. This is a really enjoyable and informative thread.

Thanks Lucky Star & Eddie. I, too, think this is a great thread, with some excellent insights into the locations & the series itself. We've had (& still have) some great contributions from fellow enthusiasts, who are very friendly, helpful & are all fab people. Above all, though, we've got Gary Russell. He gives us a real insight into the series, inc fantastic little snippets regarding locations, cast & personal thoughts/anecdotes, etc, which all help bring the series to life.

It was a great day, Eddie. Shame we didn't bump into Block, though...Eddie Muir wrote:On our visit to Burley last summer, Chick and I met up with Julie, Stephen, Nigel and Jane. It was a very enjoyable get-together. We all had a meal in the Burley Inn after a good look round the village, Number 6.

Burley, where Nigel and Eddie were talking about, was where the 1978 TV version of Five Go to Smuggler's Top was filmed.Chrissie777 wrote:Wouldn't Block be in Rye?Moonraker wrote:It was a great day, Eddie. Shame we didn't bump into Block, though...
