I bought the October Book and Magazine Collector yesterday and thought Norman Wright gave an enjoyable overview of the Find-Outers series. I also liked the article on early science books. I have to say I found the front cover rather more appealing than the back cover - but then perhaps not everyone would agree! My husband wondered what on earth I'd been reading when he saw the magazine face-down on the coffee table!

It certainly is! BBC4 (I think) is showing a series on the history of comics, starting next week. It should be a fascinationg programme - especially the first one, as that focuses on British comics from the 30s to the 60s.Lenoir wrote: (The Beano was “every Thursday”, dated Saturday, is it still going?)

That will be interesting indeed. Some of the artists were really good too. I wonder if the BBC "prime" channel will show it for the overseas viewers, sometime in the distant future. They don't show new stuff except for the soaps as far as I can make out.
They don't have that B&MC magazine in the shops here. I might try a "specialist" collectors shop and see.

The back cover is given over to an advert for an auction of erotica. "Erotica" is written at the top of the page in bright pink letters, and there's a photograph of a curvaceous young woman squeezed into a corset. A striking contrast with the front cover!

I must admit I noticed the contrast between back and front covers of Book Collector's Mag. Wonder what Enid would have made of it?
Strange shape that lady on the back cover has got: I'm amazed she has any breath left to smile!

I put the magazine on a table upside down while staying at a friend's house. I was quite embarrassed when I saw the back cover staring up at me.
I don't know if my friend saw it, and wondered what kind of magazine I was reading!

This is a Green Knight Book which means that it is a book by one of the most popular authors of all.
