I'm not on Facebook either. I was once, but only lasted two days... it was just too inane and boring and time-wasting and I quickly decided I'd had enough already. So I deleted my profile. By the next morning I'd had a panicky phone call from a close relative and a panicky email from a close friend to say "What happened? You've disappeared from Facebook! Is everything all right??" — as if my absence from one segment of cyberspace equated to my non-existence in the real world!! I've never regretted it, either.

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Just over a year ago I wanted to look at some information on a website, but in order to see the information it was necessary to "like" the website on Facebook. Therefore, I joined Facebook simply to "like" the website! My account exists to this day - but with no "friends", photos, entries or interaction.
However, I am able to see Zoe's photos, which are lovely. Yes, that treeline is very familiar - and I love the reflected lighthouse.

I'm quite intrigued to see Zoe's photos now, especially as Anita has teased us with a description of two of them!

I also have a FB-account, but I removed all friends but one. There's also no profile of mine on it, I had to leave so many information of me for different internet services on the web, I don't see it necessary to reveal more from me than necessary. It might be useful for people who want to keep in touch with a lot of persons, but that's not valid for me.

Thanks Julie.
Well I've put it in the calendar in my phone. And Anita is usually good at reminding me!
I think I've still got cuttings from the TV Times and Look-in magazine about the show!

Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia - UPDATED 130507 Page 3
Split from 'Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia'.
We're off to explore Marchwood today, and the station if it's still there.
Then hopefully I'll be able to locate Rhinefield House Hotel, and take some pictures if they allow it. I do have a dog, so maybe I'll be banned to just the grounds, or banned altogether, but one doesn't get, if one doesn't try!

I managed to get over to the Rhinehouse Hotel, near Brockenhurst today. I asked if I could take some photos of the outside and they said certainly. I took quite a few and will post them at some point tomorrow. I then went back inside and asked if they'd mind my taking some photos inside. Certainly they said, and showed me around the hotel, so I took a few indoor shots.
What a magnificent place that is.
I also took a photo of the now closed Marchwood station, and Smugglers Top - Burley Manor.

You are so lucky! I will be very happy if I could see the photos.

That was absolutely fab of them to let you take photos inside the hotel. Sounds like you had a great time. Look forward to seeing your photos!Julie2owlsdene wrote:I managed to get over to the Rhinehouse Hotel, near Brockenhurst today. As I'm away from home at the minute the wifi isn't quite strong enough to upload a few of the photos so here is just a taster to be going along with.
