“Five Go Off in a Caravan”.
[ But as this was a German printing, it's known as “Fünf Freunde beim Wanderzirkus”. ]

Correct . (And again I think the English title is better.)
This book contains several books of a series so you'll just have to guess the correct series.

I'm guessing that's got to be Malory Towers, since the school has towers!

That's the correct series - but which book is it? (I've got to admit that it isn't very obvious.)

1st term at Malory Towers....i got the impression that she is a bit young from that picture.
The Chief looked at Fatty. "Brains are good, courage is excellent, resourcefulness is rare," he said, "but generosity crowns everything, Frederick. One of these days I'll be proud of you!" - "Vanished Prince".
Re: Can you guess the English title from these covers?
You're right, it's First Term at Malory Towers or "Darrel is searching a friend" as in the German title.
What about this bunch of children?

No. (The series is right - that's probably no surprise as there are two boys, two girls and a parrot on the cover )

I guess it has to be Sea, although it looks more like a 'take' on one of the pictures in the original MacMillan book of Island.

I would say that was The River Of Adventure.

Regardless of which book it is (I'd also guess River if it isn't Sea, the illustrator has made Kiki into a compatriot of mine (and one found right where I grew up, too) — a Gang-Gang cockatoo!!
(The only snag there being that a Gang-Gang with a red head is always male — females have a grey head — but don't tell Kiki that... )
