Which Famous Five Book?
Which Famous Five book (if any) are these two titles based on?

"La Caverna Misteriosa" is Italian for "The Mysterious Cave". A Google search refers to FGOIAC.

Thank you Jack! That just leaves the book on the left?

Re: Which Famous Five Book?
Hmm the first one could be Five on a Treasure Island. The giveaway is the old shipwreck. I'm not sure about the old sepia toned face though. It could well be George's great grandfather who was captain of the ship.

It translates as 'The Five Naughty'. (The Naughty Five).

Re: Which Famous Five Book?
"I" = Italian for "The",
"Cinque" is Italian for "five"- that's not much help.
"Sbarazzini" is Italian for "jaunty" or" cheeky" according to Google translation- that suggests the book has been renamed for the Italian market. Though how it would be more attractive to potential readers than the original title is a puzzle!

Re: Which Famous Five Book?
Combined with 'I cinque' Google gave me what I posted above. I suppose it's just as confusing as our own language can be.

Naughty/cheeky- perhaps not necessarily totally different-in translation? I had wondered whether you knew Italian or how you were translating.

The same as you, Jack. If you omit the last 'i' it is 'cheeky'. With the 'i' it's 'jaunty'.

Re: Which Famous Five Book?
I just came across this one:
Which translates as:
The return of a great classic
The Band Of Five
The Secret Map
The following is a translation from the Amazon Italy website which would indicate it is 'Five Go Adventuring Again'

One day, while exploring the old family cottage, they find an ancient map written in Latin in a crack in the wall. What do those strange words mean and where does the map lead? It will be worth asking for the help of Professor Roland, a private teacher hired by George's father, who takes the dog Tim in dislike and risks dividing the inseparable gang. Can the five stay together and find out what secret lies behind the mysterious map?

I have to admit that I don't know the correct answer to this one myself!

Re: Which Famous Five Book?
Looking online, the "book" on the left is actually the outer cover of a box set of five books. Not sure what the five books are though or even if the five in the title refers to the famous five or five books in set.
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy
