You did - but only just! It was in Sesame Street that I encountered Delaney. He said, "Sure, Oi've got me own donkey and isn't it everyone who admoires him? Oi call him Sesame." "Why's that?" I asked. "Because that's his name, so it is." he replied. He took me to what appeared to be a derelict house and led the donkey up the front steps. "Open, Sesame," he commanded and the donkey kicked the door down. "People will talk," I said. "Let them," he replied, "His hoind legs have gone anyway, so they have." I thanked Delaney profusely and gave him my last Rolo.
Once inside the house, I went upstairs and out onto the roof, Where I was surprised to find the starship, 'Swinetrek'. Captain Link Hogthrob agreed to take me to Hogs Norton, where I could catch a number 69 bus to PETERSFIELD.
He called the greatest archers to a tavern on the green.

Dave's tortuous yet valedictory route to PETERSFIELD lifted my spirits so much that I had to rush out at once and purchase some Nippon Ant Powder.

Suitably camouflaged I then caught the 8:37 from PETERSFIELD to the moors. Just five minutes from the station I reached my destination, Mr Gaston's gaff, SPIGGY HOUSE....

Still a few hours of suspension to serve, but had to just admire tonights game play. It's nip and tuck. Don't forget that Friday will be sub-prime.

..and back to my isolation booth..

Adrian Mole - English diarist and pedant - wrote to Radio Four asking for the rules to M.C. Sadly, the producer who replied had always been too embarassed to ask.

So, my move: It's a steam train for a bracing paddle at real world location:

SWANAGE

Hung around SWANAGE for 2.23 hours. 'Chesterton's Nut Hunts' helped me to pass the time without boredom.
Hummed the coda from 'We'll Meet Again' to memorise co-ordinates of next destination and tried to depart without any fuss or rancour (as per rarely invoked 1646 Backside Tracker rules).

Sweaty, in need of a packet of Swizzels and a warm can of Fanta I arrived with bated breath at THE ENCHANTED WOOD...

I hate to do this to you Pete but I am calling a win.

Shimmying up the Faraway Tree I was taken to the land I wanted to be at:

KIRRIN

I thought I'd slipped up on Swanage but I guess the tree sensed my general direction and obliged!

Close and well fought game though; could have gone any way.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Stick around; Aussie-rules could bring a whole new dimension to a future game. :D

Same here - I've just had fun in 'Jokes', 'Caption Competition' and various other threads!

I enter the caption contest warily, for fear of winning it. I've still not twigged how to post a picture. Yes, I've seen the instructions but, to my mind, they might as well be written in Linear B. That's a reflection on me more than the guide.

Don't take it too personally, Pete - some of us are just not as intellectual as you and Burlington Bertram!! ;-) When I feel out of my depth, I tend to just shut off completely and continue happy in my ignorance, though I can be a little dismissive. This is just because I feel a bit thick where this 'game' is concerned; even having Googled 'Mornington Crescent' I'm not much the wiser. I was the same at school, which is why I only shone in English, History, and Art! :(

Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes

I only just got it too. :P

My main handicap in this game (not the golfing sort) is that I've never heard the original and I simply don't have the imagination to make up all the bonkers explanations and "rules" that the experts are so good at trotting out. Or to put it simply: I'm not mad enough.
