Anagram Word Game - ADD or SUBTRACT a letter

This is getting complicated... is that last word just one letter added or subtracted - it looks more than that, or have I misunderstood the principle of the game?

The last two words went from

aecidia
to
acidemia

which meant just an 'm' was added to make the second word. If unsure Daisy, best to read the first post again.

I'd be happy to revive this game following the additional rule that John (Boatbuilder) has shared when he mentioned this one in the "change a letter" game:

Maybe as I never mentioned the following, it appeared to hit a stalemate.

There may come a time when it becomes a stalemate - even with the 'change a letter rule' at the maximum letters. At that point you can either start a new game with a random four or five letter word, or even remove two letters if at the maximum end, as long as you state what you've done and why. It's also prudent to state your change of letter at the maximum, if that's what you did.

If you want, I can revive it and update the rules.

Is it OK if I take the first three letters off "acidemia" and rearrange the rest to keep us going?
