Thanks, Morgan. Happy for anyone else to set another clue!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
Hmmm... TOWER OF BABEL fits, and is a Biblical structure, but I can't figure out how "strange rate of wobble" points to it!

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
Hi, Courtenay.
This clue is just an anagram suggested by the word, strange, and ‘Tower of Babel’ is an anagram of ‘rate of wobble’.

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
Oh duhhh... I picked up that "strange" might be an anagram indicator, but didn't even think to look at the letters in "rate of wobble"!! How much more obvious could it be, honestly...
Excellent clue — and as I have just confirmed my own astonishing thickness when it comes to cryptic clues, I will definitely leave it to someone else to think up another one!

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
The best guess I've got so far is Launch?
Lunch may be eaten, maybe 'aboard a' is an indicator to add 'a' to Lunch? And I think a Launch is a type of boat, as well as the fact that you can launch a boat?

You are totally correct, Bertie.
That was brilliantly worked out.

Thanks, Barnard.
That was a very clever clue and so I'm pleased to have worked it out.

Is this one causing problems?

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
I keep coming back to this clue and all I can think of is ROE which I think is the name given to fish eggs.
However, it is probably not correct.

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
No, but you’re right in thinking of another word for eggs.

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
The only other word for eggs, that I know, is OVA and this also seems unlikely to be correct.

Re: Cryptic Crossword Clues
Yes, ova is the alternative word for eggs you’re looking for - but it’s not the answer to the puzzle.
I’ll reword the clue (I did have variations but stuck to the concise version, which may not have been wise).
Scramble eggs to make something else, in short, for your toast. Smashing. (3)
